SportsChallenge VISTA Position: Accepting Applications

SportsChallenge has been awarded an AmeriCorps VISTA position for 2012-2013. The 12-month position based in DC begins in August and carries the title "Communications and Development Associate." This position was awarded through Up2Us.

VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is a federal grant program under the umbrella of the CNCS (Corporation for National and Community Service) and AmeriCorps. VISTA members work full-time for a full year in a host organization to build capacity in nonprofits to assist in bringing individuals and communities out of poverty. In general, they develop resources that can be in the form of funding, volunteers, communications, partnerships, etc.

Important Dates:
-Applications will not be accepted after June 27th. 
-VISTA member pre-service orientation August 22-25, 2011
-VISTA member service dates August 29, 2011 – August 28, 2012
