2012 SportsChallenge National Coaches Institute Application
Overview:
The SportsChallenge National coaches Institute (NCI), a selective national program for high school coaches of all sports, equips you with specific tools to create your desired team culture and to teach leadership through sports. The 2012 NCI is open to all high school and college coaches; however, it is designed primarily for those relatively new to high school coaching. SportsChallenge NCI accepts 50 coaches from around the United States.
Eligibility:
- Candidates must demonstrate a desire to consciously develop team culture.
- Candidates must be open to innovative research-based coaching strategies
- Candidates must believe in the value of teaching leadership through sport.
- Candidates must possess a collaborative spirit and be prepared to work intensely with coaches from all across the country.
- Candidates must coach at the high school or college level. Club coaches of high school aged student-athletes are also welcome to apply.
Admissions Policy:
- Admission is need-blind and rolling.
- Our Admissions Committee meets regularly to evaluate new applications.
- SportsChallenge encourages male and female coaches of any religion, race, color, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin to apply.
- Decisions are based upon the Committee’s belief that the coach is an excellent fit for our program with emphasis placed upon an overall seriousness of purpose and commitment to empowering student-athletes.
- If accepted after the program has reached capacity, you are placed on the wait-list.
The Application Process:
- Fill out and submit the application.
- After the written stage is complete, selected coaches will be contacted within one week for a phone interview.
- We will contact selected coaches with our admissions decision within one week of the interview. We send further program details to all accepted coaches.
