You had an amazing, life-changing experience at SportsChallenge—you met wonderful friends and mentors; you became a more confident and skilled leader; and your athletic career finished on the strongest of notes…now, how can you get back involved in a meaningful way with SportsChallenge? Our Alumni Council formed in the summer of 2010. With the consistent growth of SportsChallenge alumni on staff, combined with our thriving online community, we recognized a definitive desire demonstrated by our alumni to remain connected after they’ve “graduated”. Therefore, the Alumni Council was developed to strengthen alumni connections with SportsChallenge and provide a range of services to alumni, current student-athletes and the organization as a whole.
The Role of the Aumni Council:
- The Alumni Council maintains contact among alumni and serve to support the Summer Academy in various endeavors involving alumni.
- The Alumni Council coordinates social, networking, and fundraising events for alumni and current student-athletes.
- The Alumni Council oversees content for the Alumni Scoreboard on our website, Alumni Corner in our newsletter, and engaging alums through our media outlets (i.e. Facebook, Twitter and our blog—Overtime!)
- The Alumni Council guides, provides and creates support services for alumni (e.g. leadership seminars, online college counseling and mentoring programs).
- The Alumni Council welcomes newly graduated SportsChallenge classes into alumni status.
- The Alumni Council provides you with the opportunity not only to give back to SportsChallenge, but also to develop personally and professionally. If you are interested in applying to serve on the Alumni Council, please contact us at alumni@scleadership.org.
